Welcome to our Admissions Process!

Here, you will find everything you need to become an F-1 student at Celebration Language Institute!

What is an F-1 Visa?

The F1 visa is a non-immigrant student visa that permits foreigners to study in the United States. It is required for anyone who wants to become an international student in the U.S. The process of getting an F1 visa through the U.S. embassy in your home country is usually simple and quick.

How to apply for an
F-1 Visa in your home country.

1. Enroll with us

This is the moment you will fill out your paperwork, send us the documentation. Once the registration paperwork and required documents have been reviewed, the enrollment fees will be charged.

The following documents must be provided for the F-1 student and all F-2 dependents (if applicable):

  • Copy of Passport(s) (valid for at least 6 to 12 months)
  • Birth certificate(s) for minor child dependents (only if the parents’ names are not listed on the child’s passport)
  • Marriage Certificate (if married)
  • Bank Statement

From the Bank Account Holder (student, spouse):

  • Most recent bank statement containing: name of the holder, name of the bank, last 4 digits of the account, date, and final balance.
  • If submitting an investment account statement, a letter from the bank confirming that the available balance is immediately liquid

Sponsor Requirement (if applicable):

  • If the applicant uses a sponsor, the sponsor must provide a bank statement, a copy of ID, and an email address
  • If the sponsor is a company, also provide company registration documents and proof of ownership or authorized representation

Proof of funds:
For programs of 12 months or longer:
• $12,000 for the F-1 student
• $4,000 for each F-2 dependent

For programs shorter than 12 months:
• $1,000 per month for the F-1 student
• $334 per month for each F-2 dependent

2. Be Accepted at CLI

In this step, you will receive the I-20, and Acceptance Letter from CLI’s DSO Department.

3. Pay Government Fees

Reminder: complete all fee payments at least three days prior to your VISA interview.

4. Get ready for your interview

You must schedule your VISA interview at the nearest U.S. consulate in your country of residence.

5. VISA Approval

After your F-1 VISA is approved by the US consulate or US embassy, please contact our school to inform us of your travel plans and arrival date. The Admissions Team will guide you through the next steps, including taking the placement test, signing the enrollment agreement and preparing you to the first day of classes.

Reminder: Students MAY ONLY travel to the United States up to THIRTY (30) days before the program start date listed on your I-20.

Begin taking classes with us on the date specified on your I-20 Form.

How to apply for an Transfer Process.

1. Apply to our school

This is the moment you will fill out your paperwork, and send us the documentation.

  • Copy of Passport (From F1 student and F2 dependents, valid for at least 6 to 12 months)
  • Copy of F1/F2 Visa or USCIS Form I-539 approval letter
  • Marriage Certificate (if married)
  • Future student’s email and, if you have a sponsor, we will need their email to send the required form.
  • Full name and email of the current school’s DSO to send the transfer form.
  • Bank statement: The bank statement must contain the name of the holder, name of the bank, last 4 digits of the account, date, and final balance. Current account, savings account or short-term redeemable investment.
    From the bank account holder: copy of identity card or passport.
    Bank statements of an Investment account require a letter from the bank stating that the available balance is of *immediate* liquidity.

Proof of funds:

For programs of 12 months or longer:

• $12,000 for the F-1 student
• $4,000 for each F-2 dependent

For programs shorter than 12 months:

• $1,000 per month for the F-1 student
• $334 per month for each F-2 dependent

2. Notify your current school

You must inform your current school of your intent to transfer. In this step, your current school’s DSO will need to fill out the Transfer Form.

3. Pay Enrollment fees

After receiving all required documentation, you will pay the Enrollment fees (non-refundable).

4. Be Accepted

Congratulations! Now you will receive your Acceptance Letter from CLI.

Reminder: Don’t forget to send the Acceptance Letter to your current school.

5. Receive your new I-20 form

Once we receive your SEVIS record, our DSO Department will issue a new I-20 form, and will send it to you within 24 to 48 hours.

How to apply for an Change of Status.

1. Apply to our school

This is the moment you will fill out your paperwork, send us the documentation, pay Enrollment fees (non-refundable), and tuition deposit.

  • Copy of Passports (From F1 student and F2 dependents, valid for at least 6 to 12 months)
  • Copy of F1/F2 Visas or Petition I-539 Approval Letter from USCIS.– Copy of I-94. (Available: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home)
  • Marriage Certificate (if married)

From the Bank Account Holder:

  • Copy of ID Card or passport.
  • Bank statement (most recent).

Bank statements of an Investment account require a letter from the bank stating that the available balance is of immediate liquidity.

For programs of 12 months or longer:

• $12,000 for the F-1 student
• $4,000 for each F-2 dependent

For programs shorter than 12 months:

• $1,000 per month for the F-1 student
• $334 per month for each F-2 dependent

2. Be Accepted at CLI

In this step, you will receive the I-20, and acceptance letter from our DSO Department.

3. Pay Government Fees

Click on the button below to make the payment for the I-901 (SEVIS Fee) on the official website.

4. Submit your Change of Status process

File form I-539 and submit it to USCIS (U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services).

Reminder: CLI DOES NOT file your change of status process for you. Some people file on their own, or as we recommend, hire legal assistance.

5. Receive the approval letter from USCIS*

When you receive the approval letter from USCIS, notify our school immediately.
We need to schedule the official start of your studies (within 30 days of approval). Before that you won’t start studying.

*Approval can take on average from 4 to 12 months to be received.
